In September of 2018, Peel Leadership Centre released “Leaders of Today: An Inside Look at the Executive Director Experience in Peel Region”. This report illustrated the findings uncovered from an Executive Director survey that was distributed in the spring and summer of 2018. In 2013 and 2015 PLC also distributed similar surveys and created survey reports. The 2018 survey revealed some emerging themes in the nonprofit sector and issues of concern for EDs.
These surveys are enormously important to us here at PLC. They help to guide our strategic directions; inform our program, workshop and event development; and they underpin our service delivery.
The survey report organizes the key findings into five categories:
- The ED Role – Experience and Structure
- Performance Management
- Professional Development
- Organizational Financial Health
- Board Relationships and ED Succession Planning
- Peel Region’s Changing Nonprofit and Charitable Organization Landscape
