**This learning lab is available for free to nonprofit professionals who are engaged in evaluation within their organizations. If you are unsure of your eligibility to attend, please email hello@peelevaluates.ca **

In this session, we’ll learn how to shift our thinking from evaluation as an afterthought to evaluation as integral to the design of our initiatives. We’ll look at the connections and linkages between designing a program and evaluating it. We’ll learn how to craft effective outcome statements.

Using a case study – or better yet, a program you’re working on – we’ll look at the outcomes you’re aiming to achieve and make sure to use and evaluation lens in crafting that information. As time permits, we’ll explore first-draft ideas for capturing these outcomes – with preliminary indicators and measurable approximations of the outcomes.

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and work on a current evaluation challenge. Come join us and leave with a better sense of how to ensure that evaluation is part of your thinking as you plan and design your programs and initiatives. Handouts, worksheets and sources for further evaluation will be provided.

This workshop is for you if you want to:

  • Learn where to start with evaluation
  • Translate your learning about evaluation into practice with an effort you’re currently work on
  • Get support in refining your outcomes so they more easily feed into evaluation
  • Improve your understanding of the linkage between the design of your programs/initiatives and evaluation

If you attended PREP’s “Understanding Evaluation” workshop in the fall of 2018 and your head is still spinning with all you learned, then this workshop is also for you. We will begin to practice what we introduced in that workshop as well as be available to answer your questions.
